Mexicana

My work explores the concept of folklore and different mythologies around superstition, ghosts, death and witchcraft. I solve my work through painting, graphics, poetry, object and video.

The relations that I generate between the different media that I use reveals the structures, contexts and lexicons of the topics of her interest.

In my last pieces, I take Pre-Columbian history, shamanism and ancient beliefs as a filter to understand my identity within contemporary society.

"I like to think about my work as energetic bodies, an extract and a reflection of my cultural constructions. Each one of my pieces is designed to function as a body and as an object, I want my work to be understand as a ritual or a spiritual piece".
